Reservations are not available at this time, as boards are rented on a first come, first serve basis. However, we have 18 boards available for rent, and we normally have boards available at any given time.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How old must one be to rent a paddleboard?
You must be at least 18 to rent a SUP or kayak. Parents or legal guardians may rent for their children, but the minimum age for children for stand up paddling is 13 years old. The age limit for children in kayaks when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian is 8 years of age.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, or debit cards only. No cash, thank you.
Do I need to know how to stand up paddle to rent a board?
No, one of the reasons stand up paddling is so popular is because its so easy to do. The boards we rent are stable and user-friendly.
Will I receive any instruction with the rental?
No, however you will receive a safety briefing on stand up paddling at New Brighton. If you wish to learn more about how to stand up paddle, we suggest one of our “Intro to SUP” Classes offered by Covewater.
Do I need to know how to swim to rent a SUP?
What kind of SUP boards do you rent at New Brighton?
We rent 10’6″ and 11’6″ Boardworks B-Rays. These boards are user friendly, stable, feature a soft-top and rail for improved safety, yet are light enough to easily carry (29 lbs) and offer really nice glide and speed for exploring the coastline. Can I drive away with a paddleboard or kayak to another location?
Absolutely. We provide straps and pads for those who want to drive away with their rentals and instruct you on how to easily strap up to three paddleboards or one kayak to your car. No special roof racks are needed to do this, we strap them right to your roof and show you how its done. You’re free to go anywhere!
Can I rent a board or kayak for more than one day?
Yes. Mulitiple day rentals are available.
Boards/kayaks need to be returned by Sunday at 4:30 PM. If you are looking for a longer term rental, please contact our parent shop, Covewater Paddle Surf at: info@CovewaterSUP.com
Can I go surfing on my SUP?
No. If you want a SUP on which you can go surf some small waves away from the crowds, we suggest you rent a surf friendly SUP from Covewater.
