Return & Refund Policy
Return eligibility
For purchases made online or in the store, customers must contact Covewater within 15 days of purchase to request a return.
Eligible items must be:
-
In new and unused condition.
-
Returned with their original packaging and tags.
Merchandise used on the water does not qualify for a standard return.
Eligible returns may receive a refund to the original payment method or store credit. We do not offer direct exchanges.
Final-sale merchandise
All boards and electronics, including electric foil-assist systems, are final sale and cannot be returned because of a change of mind.
These restrictions do not affect your rights under applicable law for defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied merchandise.
Requesting a return
Email info@covewater.com or use the contact form on our website. Include your order number or proof of purchase, the item you wish to return and the reason for the return.
Please contact us before sending merchandise back. We will confirm eligibility and provide return instructions.
All returns are inspected before a refund or store credit is approved.
Return shipping
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is necessary because of an error made by Covewater.
Original shipping charges are nonrefundable for change-of-mind returns. If we sent the wrong item or made another error with your order, contact us so we can arrange the return and correct the issue.
Items that do not meet the required condition
If a returned item does not meet our condition requirements, Covewater may refuse the return or accept it with a 15% restocking fee based on the returned item’s purchase price.
If accepted with a restocking fee, the fee is deducted from the refund or store credit. This does not apply to returns needed to correct a Covewater error or where applicable law requires a different remedy.
Refund processing
After receiving and inspecting your return, we issue approved refunds or store credit within 5 business days of receipt.
Monetary refunds are issued to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to post the refund.
Original shipping charges and any applicable restocking fee are excluded from ordinary return refunds.
Order Cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. We will check whether the order has shipped and whether cancellation is still possible.
Customer-requested cancellations before shipment may be subject to a 3% fee deducted from the refund to cover nonrefundable transaction and processing fees.
No cancellation fee applies when Covewater cannot fulfill the order or when you cancel because we cannot ship within our stated timeframe. Refunds required by applicable law are handled without deductions that the law prohibits.
Once an order has shipped, requests are handled under our return policy, including its eligibility requirements, final-sale restrictions and shipping costs.
Shipping Damage and Warranty Claims
Orders that arrive damaged
Please inspect your order when it arrives. If you notice shipping damage, contact Covewater within 24 hours of delivery.
Please:
-
Photograph the packaging and shipping label.
-
Photograph the damaged product.
-
Keep all packaging and packing materials.
-
Email info@covewater.com with your order number, photos and a description of the damage.
Contact us before returning the item. We will review the information and guide you through the next steps.
Prompt reporting helps us investigate shipping damage. This reporting request does not remove your rights under applicable law if damage is discovered or reported later.
Defective products and warranties
Contact Covewater first if you believe a product is defective or may qualify for a manufacturer warranty claim.
Please provide:
-
Your original invoice or order information.
-
Photos showing the issue.
-
A description of the problem and how it occurred.
-
The product serial number, if applicable.
We will help you identify the next steps. Do not send merchandise back until you receive instructions.
Manufacturer warranty coverage and remedies depend on the applicable manufacturer’s terms. Our assistance does not extend the manufacturer’s warranty or guarantee that a claim will be approved.
Customers are normally responsible for shipping merchandise back for a warranty claim, unless the manufacturer’s warranty or applicable law provides otherwise.

Weather and water conditions
If Covewater cancels a lesson because of weather or water conditions, we offer rescheduling or full lesson credit. No cancellation or rescheduling fee applies.
Customers who live outside Monterey County and Santa Cruz County may instead receive a full refund. To verify eligibility, we require an identification document or driver’s license showing the customer’s residential address.
How lesson credit works
Lesson credit is issued as a dollar amount and does not expire.
Credit may be applied toward another Covewater lesson. It cannot be used for merchandise or rentals.
Lessons are charged at the price in effect when the new booking is made. If the lesson price exceeds the available credit, the customer pays the difference.
